Dinosaur Bone

Dinosaur Bone is often petrified (fossilized by being infilled and replaced by quartz and other minerals). The quartz can be very colourful. The pattern that you see in this material is from the original cell structure of the dinosaurs. Many of these fossils date back to the Late Jurassic Age about 150 million years ago. Dinosaur Bone is almost exclusively mined in the United States.
