A must for the professionally minded cutter. This machine offers all the benefits of processing with diamond on one comprehensive, robust machine. It includes a 1 inch thick shaft, 2 diamond grinding wheels and 2 diamond sanding wheels. 

The body of the machine has a heavy walled, durable aluminium casting. It has wide cast aluminium guards which help eliminate rust and sheet metal vibrations. The latest upgrade made on the GMP models are the new hoods. The hoods now attach to the body with a more robust connection. The length and diameter has also been increased to accomodate both left and right end plates if required. 

Water fittings are supplied with independant tap control to each wheel. The water is spread across the face of the wheels and then minimized by a rubber barrier. The machine is mounted in a heavy duty, large capacity, stainless steel tray.

A 1/2hp motor is supplied and combined with a Three Speed Pulley Set  with running speeds (850, 1420 and 1988 rpm) to suit a range of uses.

Left and right hand machined aluminium face plates can be purchased as a added extra if you wish to flat grind or polish on this unit. 

Gemmasta was originally designed and built by Roy Gaerth in Adelaide in 1972, these heavy duty lapidary grinders have long been the machine of choice for many people in the Australian Opal Industry, and in Gem and Lapidary Clubs right around Australia. Roy eventually sold the manufacturing rights to Gemmasta Lapidary Equipment in Flinders Park, South Australia and it was later aquired by Shell-Lap in Adelaide. In 2018 Shell-Lap closed when the owner retired and the manufacturing moved to Ballina in NSW.

Since then the machine has undergone several design improvements to make it even better than the original.

The Gemmasta GMP's now comes with a full stainless steel tray that replaces the plastic moulded tray that was previously supplied with this model. The bearings have been replaced with fully sealed units.

The 3/4 Inch shaft has been updated to a full 1 inch stainess steel shaft. This provides additional rigidity and greater support, particularly those users that want to run heavy sintered grinding wheels.

The 1 inch shaft also means that lapidary wheels used on this machine do not reqire bushing and are less prone to vibration.

 This is a machine that is built to last, made of solid cast aluminium components with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing faults.
