Saw Blades for Adjustable Saw Frames
One set of 12 jewellers piercing saw blades.
Although these saws can be used for cutting other materials, such as wood or plastic, they are really designed for cutting fine detail into soft metal, such as silver. The blade is held under tension by between clamps at each end of the frame.
If you ever wondered why a jewellers’ saw is known as a piercing saw, the name is derived from the practice of drilling, or piercing, a hole when piercing internal spaces, as in filigree work.
We provide several brands of Swiss saw blades depending on stock. Swiss saw blades are made from higher quality steel and are less prone to breakage than their cheaper Indian made counterparts.
Good quality blades made in Switzerland or Germany
Select your blade from the table below, depending on the thickness of the metal you are cutting. If you are still not sure pick a saw blade between a number 2 and a 2/0 as these are the most commonly used sizes.
