Our Australian made Resin Bonded Diamond Disk system is ideal for those that want to make cabochons but have limited space or a small machine. The tough resin bonded diamond surface of the disk is backed by 6mm of high density neoprene foam.

The disks are designed for the sanding stages of cabochon making. Grinding and shaping still need to be done using diamond plated disks or on grinding wheels.

The surface of the disk has enough "drape" to take off small facets left on the surface of the stone left after the initial grinding process. The disk is backed with magnetic material that will grip on to a steel face plate.

You can easily convert your aluminium or wooden face plate to take these disks by permanently glueing a steel disk (such as an old lapidary saw blade) to your existing face plate.

PLEASE NOTE: These disks are not suitable for extremely hard stones such as ruby or sapphire.
