                                     Diamond Abrasive Disks

Resin Bonded Diamond Disk

Eastwind are US company and manufacture two types of diamond disks. These are resin bonded diamond and diamond dot plated disks.

Resin bonded diamond abrasive disks have strong, flexible fabric backings that will not crack or lose pliancy after repeated use and require no messy grease. They run on water-cooled machines, allowing faster grinding rates at a substantially reduced cost, and providing a cleaner, safer work environment. The disks are designed to be used on a face plate with a foam backing

The resin bonded disks are manufactured in 60 mesh through 100,000 mesh. All the prices for the various meshes are the same cost except for 80 grit and coarser - these are approximately 10% more expensive.

We currently stock the resin bonded diamond abrasive disks in the following grits:  280, 320, 600, 1200. Most other diamond grits are also available and we can order them in with a minimum lead time.

The resin bonded diamond disks are available in either a 150mm (6 inch) or 200mm (8 inch) diameters. The disks are fully manufactured in the USA.

Diamond Dot Disk

Diamond dot discs are generally longer lasting and faster cutting than the resin bonded disks. They come in grits from 60 through to 1800. For finer grits you should use the resin bonded diamond disks. Both types of grinding disks must be used with water and the maximum RPM is 1725. The disks are excellent for grinding and polishing gemstones and are a fine solution for the machine tool industry for grinding and polishing carbide tools. The disks can also be used for glass grinding.
